95 4Ps grantees complete 10-week LOTUS 3.0 Program in Sorsogon City

Ninety-five (95) grantees of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from Sorsogon City and Prieto Diaz celebrated their graduation from the LOTUS 3.0 (Localized Tutorial Services): Parents Education for Child Learning Success program on December 14, 2024, at the Audio-Visual Hall of Sorsogon State University (SorSU).

The program is designed to empower parents with essential knowledge and skills to support their children’s education. It is also a testament to collaborative efforts in strengthening families and communities.

LOTUS 3.0 is a ten-week short-term course featuring interactive sessions and practical activities aimed at fostering active parental involvement in children’s learning and development. This initiative not only enhances parental engagement but also promotes a supportive learning environment that in one way or another, significantly contributes to children’s academic success and emotional well-being, reflecting the critical role of family involvement in education.

This was made possible through the partnership between SorSU—particularly its Colleges of Teacher Education, Midwifery, Biology, and Nursing—and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V – Bicol Region.

The program’s foundation was laid on September 19, 2024, through a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between SorSU and DSWD, solidifying their shared vision to empower parents in becoming active partners in their children’s educational success.

Highlighting the event, six parents received the Achievers Award in recognition of their outstanding dedication and efforts throughout the course. Furthermore, the Local Government Unit of Sorsogon City and the Office of the 1st Congressional District of Sorsogon extended their support by providing food packs, non-food items, and transportation allowances to the graduates as tokens of appreciation.

The success of LOTUS 3.0 signifies a major milestone in 4Ps parental empowerment, reinforcing their vital role in ensuring brighter futures for their children and stronger communities in Sorsogon.
