CoTEd takes pride in its impressive accreditation achievements through the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP):
BSED: Level IV Phase 1 Accredited
BEED: Level III Re-Accredited
BTVTED: Level III Accredited

Through the College of Teacher Education, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) has been recognized with the prestigious EQUATE (Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education) Award by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), a testament to its efforts in upholding the highest standards in pre-service teacher education. This recognition underscores the university’s consistent performance in meeting CHED’s rigorous requirements, achieving program accreditation, and excelling in the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).


Moreover, the College of Teacher Education has earned prestigious recognition from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for its consistent excellence in licensure examinations—ranking as the 3rd Best Performing School nationwide in the September 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) at the Elementary Level with an outstanding 97.80% overall performance rating. This tradition of excellence continued in September 2024, when the college secured 7th place among the Best Performing Schools nationwide for the Elementary Level with an impressive 90.91% overall performance rating, further strengthening SorSU’s reputation for producing exceptional education professionals.









Exemplary Board Examination Performance
CoTEd consistently demonstrates exceptional performance in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), significantly outperforming national passing rates:
BEED (Elementary Education)
March 2024: 87.18% overall performance (national passing percentage: 46.67%)
September 2023: 97.80% overall performance (national passing percentage: 47.01%)
March 2023: 91.30% overall performance (national passing percentage: 40.76%)
BSED (Secondary Education)
March 2024: 73.16% overall performance (national passing percentage: 58.78%)
September 2023: 74.88% overall performance (national passing percentage: 56.26%)
The college regularly produces LET topnotchers, further cementing its reputation for academic excellence in teacher education.
